You may find it easier to remove the float platform prior to changing your propeller. The motor does not have to be removed to change the propeller. To change the propeller on your “DA-20” or “Boilermaker” aerator, start by locating the 1" round opening on the side of the large grey motor housing tube. This is the main grey tube that measures about 8” in diameter and about 24" long. The 1" opening is about 6" from the top of the aerator where the water is dispersed. You can spin the propeller by hand so that the 1" opening will line up with a set screw on the side of your existing propeller. You’ll need a 1/8" Allen style screw driver to loosen the set screw on the side of your existing propeller thru the 1" hole, then from the top of the aerator use a flat-head screwdriver to gently “pop” the propeller off the motor’s shaft. Slide the new propeller onto the motor shaft, and gently press down on the center of the propeller so that it fits snugly onto the motor shaft. YOUR NEW PROPELLER DOES NOT REQUIRE A SET SCREW FOR INSTALLATION.
