Poly-Flo's most popular biological filtration media.  It is available in 1" 1-1/4", and 2"  thicknesses.  The 2" material is used exclusively in virtually all US manufactured pond skimmers and waterfall units.  The open character of this filter media allows for high volumes of water to pass through without cogging while providing optimal surface area to facilitate bacterial colonization.

 A little more detail:

White Filter Media:

Our filter media is formed via an air-laid, thermal spray bond process that coats the fibers adding numerous random peaks to the fiber. As this unique process makes it virtually impossible to calculate the Surface Area with the addition of the binders, we base the value on the fiber alone. In other words, our noted Surface Area is the minimum value.

Filteration Type: Mechanical

Thickness: 1.00″ +/- 10%

Density: High

Surface Area: 20 ft.² of S.A. per ft.² of material, 228 ft.² of S.A. per ft.³ of material

  • Dense material traps smaller particles maintaining good water flow
  • Fibers range from 25-200 denier
  • Can be used as a standard mechanical filter
  • Fish safe

Cream 1-1/4" Filter Media:

Our filter media is formed via an air-laid, thermal spray bond process that coats the fibers adding numerous random peaks to the fiber. As this unique process makes it virtually impossible to calculate the Surface Area with the addition of the binders, we base the value on the fiber alone. In other words, our noted Surface Area is the minimum value.

Filteration Type: Mechanical and Biological

Thickness: 1.25″ +/- 10%

Density: Medium

Surface Area: 11 ft.² of S.A. per ft.² of material, 97 ft.² of S.A. per ft.³ of material

  • High surface area for bacterial colonization
  • Coarse 200 denier fibers capture debris
  • Resists clogging or channeling
  • Fish safe

Cream 2" Filter Media:

Our filter media is formed via an air-laid, thermal spray bond process that coats the fibers adding numerous random peaks to the fiber. As this unique process makes it virtually impossible to calculate the Surface Area with the addition of the binders, we base the value on the fiber alone. In other words, our noted Surface Area is the minimum value.

Filtration Type: Mechanical and Biological

Thickness: 2.00″ +/- 10%

Density: Medium

Surface Area: 18 ft.² of S.A. per ft.² of material, 107 ft.² of S.A. per ft.³ of material

  • High surface area for bacterial colonization
  • Coarse 200 denier fibers capture debris
  • Resists clogging or channeling
  • Fish safe

Black 1" Filter Media:

Our filter media is formed via an air-laid, thermal spray bond process that coats the fibers adding numerous random peaks to the fiber. As this unique process makes it virtually impossible to calculate the Surface Area with the addition of the binders, we base the value on the fiber alone. In other words, our noted Surface Area is the minimum value.

Filteration Type: Mechanical

Thickness: 1.00″ +/- 10%

Density: High

Surface Area: 15 ft.² of S.A. per ft.² of material, 161 ft.² of S.A. per ft.³ of material

  • Dense material traps smaller particles maintaining good water flow
  • Fibers range from 25-200 denier
  • Can be used as a standard mechanical filter
  • Fish safe

 Black 2" Filter Media:

Our filter media is formed via an air-laid, thermal spray bond process that coats the fibers adding numerous random peaks to the fiber. As this unique process makes it virtually impossible to calculate the Surface Area with the addition of the binders, we base the value on the fiber alone. • Coarse 200 denier fibers capture debris
  • Resists clogging or channeling
  • Fish safe
  • UV resistant
