COLOR INTENSIFIER is our most potent color enhancing koi formula. It is heavily concentrated with pure cultured spirulina and Antarctic krill. Our exclusive encapsulation process provides color enhancement not possible with the conventional production methods. The result of this unique feature is that the color enhancers and other nutritive ingredients are in their raw, un-cooked state making them unequally potent. As an added benefit, this two-step application of vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins C & E, ensure that the luster, sheen and whites of your koi are always at their best.
As in all other Dainichi koi foods, COLOR INTENSIFIER contains calcium montmorillonite clay to simulate the natural ingestion of mineral particles and to bind and neutralize metabolic toxins. Raw, fully potent vitamins, digestive enzymes and garlic ensure that the koi are healthy and free of internal parasites. Furthermore, the scouring action of the clay enhances a continued rejuvenation of the digestive tract, which in turn ensures a maximum rate of digestion and assimilation of nutrients. With only two sources of starch (flour as binder and wheat germ as a source of vitamins E and B), COLOR INTENSIFIER keeps the body conformation of all koi in a constant show-ready condition. As an additional benefit, the low waste production by koi, helps keeps the dissolved organics levels low in your pond, making it an invaluable aid in eliminating algal blooms.

USAGE

Feed your fish only as much as they will eat (immediately) in a few minutes, 2 to 4 times daily. Smaller, more frequent feeding are preferred over a single large one. All Dainichi foods have low levels of starches to prevent excessive swelling in the digestive tract and to maintain a lean show-ready body conformation. COLOR INTENSIFIER is recommended for use during peak activity months when water temperature is above 60°-65° F. This is a fast color formula. Maximum color is usually achieved after 4 - 6 weeks of use. There are no ill effects from continuous use, however, prolonged periods of use and/or very heavy feedings can result with the whites of koi turning slightly pink. This guideline of course, applies only to koi with white coloration. In such instance it is advisable to reduce the amount of COLOR INTENSIFIER being fed and/or a switch to any of our other formulas, with the exception of PREMIUM, which also has color enhancing properties. If the speed at which color is brought up is not a consideration, the exact same color brightness and intensity can be achieved with more control through a regular use of the PREMIUM formula. COLOR INTENSIFIER does not contain any astaxanthin or other concentrated pigment additives which often turn the whites of koi a dirty yellow color. However, if the whites of the koi were to turn a pink hue from too much spirulina intake, koi keepers can take comfort in knowing that the clean, bright, white color can return in about two weeks, whereas the yellowed whites produced by other means can remain dingy for a number of weeks.
To maximize both color and growth rate, this formula can be used with our krill food, GROWTH PLUS.
A ratio of one part color food to 2-3 parts growth food produces very good results.

Dainichi Fish Food

The unique properties of Dainichi's encapsulation process enables us to apply the spirulina and the vitamins (especially vitamin C), in their raw, uncooked state which produces exceptionally deep reds (hi) and bright whites. This group of koi clearly demonstrates the benefits of this feature. With two separate applications of vitamins, the sheen and brightness of the whites is exceptional. Likewise, the raw, un-cooked spirulina in the coating produces deep, long lived red.
