PREMIUM is one of our most popular koi foods. Ideal food for keeping all koi in show quality condition, this high performance formula provides your fish with a perfect balance of both growth and color. PREMIUM can be used alone or in conjunction with other formulas such as GROWTH PLUS or ALL-SEASON. Encapsulated with a unique nutritional coating, this robust blend of marine and vegetable proteins contains white fish meal, krill and spirulina as well as a complex mix of minerals, vitamins and indispensable pre-biotics.

Like all Dainichi foods, PREMIUM contains calcium montmorillonite clay to simulate the natural ingestion of mineral particles and to bind and neutralize metabolic toxins. Raw, fully potent vitamins, digestive enzymes and garlic ensure that the fish are healthy and free of internal parasites. Furthermore, the scouring action of the clay enhances continued rejuvenation of the digestive tract which ensures a maximum rate of digestion and assimilation of nutrients. With only two sources of starch (flour as binder and wheat germ as a source of vitamin E and B), PREMIUM keeps the body conformation of all koi in a constant show-ready condition.

White fish meal, wheat flour, wheat germ, pea protein, krill meal, brewer’s yeast, spirulina, montmorillonite clay, garlic, calcium carbonate, Vitamin A Acetate, D-Activated Animal-Sterol (D3), DL Alphatocopherol (E), L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (C), B12 Supplement, Choline Chloride, Niacin, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (B6), Thiamine Mononitrate, Inositol, Folic Acid, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex (K), Biotin.

Feed your fish only as much as they will eat (immediately) in a few minutes, 2 to 4 times daily. Smaller, more frequent feeding are preferred over a single large one. All Dainichi foods have low levels of starches to prevent excessive swelling in the digestive tract and to maintain a lean show-ready body conformation. There is no need to supplement with other high spirulina-containing color food such as COLOR INTENSIFIER. Heavy feeding using both of these color formulas may result in the whites of the koi turning pink, requiring a switch to either ALL-SEASON or GROWTH PLUS until the whites return back to their normal shade.

Dainichi Fish Food
These high quality Japanese koi look every bit as good as they did in the pristine water of Niigata. The main reason, of course, is the nutritional and show qualities of the PREMIUM formula. Many of these koi were reared in the mud ponds on this very same formula by the breeders, prior to their export to hobbyist markets in America and Europe. Further use of the PREMIUM formula provides a continuation of good care and pond management practiced by the breeders themselves. The high content of quality marine proteins such as fish meal and krill combined with a low amount of starch, produces a diet that is high in protein (42%) and also exceptionally nutritious. Digestibility is so complete that dissolved organic matter in the water is reduced to levels inhospitable to algae blooms even under the full exposure to sun. The unique properties of Dainichi's encapsulation process enables us to apply the spirulina and the vitamins (especially vitamin C), in their raw, uncooked state which produces exceptionally deep reds (hi) and bright whites.
